Cascade System:

Cascade systems are used for refilling S.C.B.A. bottles. A cascade system uses a series of large tanks of compressed air. The large bottles have a higher pressure than an empty S.C.B.A. bottle which causes the air to equalize when the two are connected. The higher pressure bottles are opened and closed sequentially until the S.C.B.A. bottle is filled with air.
