| Hard Line: |
| A hard line is a small fire hose, usually 1 inch in diamater that is attached to a hose reel on a fire engine. Hard lines do not need to be disconnected and rolled after each use. They supply much less water than larger fire hoses and are typically used for very small fires. (or for washing the fire truck) Also known as a red line or a booster line. |
